Sheryl + Amy | Silver Creek Wedding | Champaign, IL |
We had been looking forward to working with Sheryl and Amy from the moment we first met them to discuss their wedding day. Their enthusiasm for life and each other is contagious. You can't help but smile. You can't help but laugh. You can't help but enjoy each moment a little bit bigger when you're with them. A sweet intimate ceremony was held in the greenhouse of Silver Creek restaurant and officiated by Sheryl's brother. The personal stories, heartfelt emotions and high fives shared made it such a memorable ceremony. Sheryl's two daughters from a previous marriage, Jessie and Morgan, played on their custom made ukulele's while Adaira, a family friend, sang during the ceremony. They are so talented.
Included in this post, there are a couple videos. First, let me say we are NOT videographers. We are photographers who were more than happy to do our best to capture a couple special moments, at Sheryl and Amy's request, with video for them to remember. I've actually only used the video capability on my camera a couple times for personal use before that day. So it's at time out of focus and at times may be a little shaky. However as we've learned with photography too... an out of focus moment that captures emotion can still be perfect. So with that said, these attempts at recording are perfect for Amy and Sheryl. :-)
The number in attendance for the reception portion of their wedding more than doubled so they rented out the entire restaurant and had an amazing buffet (salmon and butternut squash pasta were our favorites) and a variety of bite size desserts.
Once dinner was over, they didn't waste anytime celebrating mingling with all the guests, dancing, and singing! And now... for the most epic first dance ever. Very few people knew about the Dirty Dancing song they were going to perform for their first dance. Amy studied dance and it's obvious the way she can move across the floor. And Sheryl, as she put it herself, 'can be trained'. lol. The chemistry between these two as they performed "(I've had the) Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing was spectacular. Make sure you watch the whole thing, video of Sheryl and Amy is posted below. You are NOT going to want to miss the lift at the end. We loved their dance moves but what we loved the most was the fun, joy and love they exuded the entire time.
When you're around them, you can't help but smile.
Cheers to many more years of smiling together Cheryl and Amy!
