Coral & Navy Summer Barn Wedding | Engelbrecht Farm| Paxton, IL

Oh Jake and Jackie's wedding day was filled with such beauty, emotion and love.  From meeting them for the first time at Monical's in Paxton, to their engagement session (which you can see here) and communicating with them via Snapchat we've been so excited for their wedding day. And last Saturday, the day finally arrived!  When we arrived at Engelbrecht Farm the finishing touches were being taken care of for a wedding day no one would soon forget!  They had beautiful wreaths on the barn doors, cigar bar, his and her specialty cocktails, one of a kind 3-D metal signs hanging behind the head table that spelled out their name, florals that were breathtaking - including Peonies.  We wouldn't complain if Peonies bloomed year round.  Can we get an amen?!

Shortly after Jackie got in her wedding dress (Just wait til you see the pics of her below. She looked stunning!) she had a Facetime call with her grandma who is in an assisted living home a couple hours away.  Unable to come to the wedding, her grandma's nurse and Jackie organized a video call on her wedding day.   Can we just stop for a moment and think about that?  On a day when the focus is intended to be all on the bride and groom,  Jackie carves out time to talk to her grandma.  This was a chance for grandma to see Jackie in her wedding gown before all of the wedding guests.  Grandma could tell her how beautiful she looked.  Jackie could tell grandma how much she loves her.  In the hustle and bustle of a busy day, everything came to a complete stop for a few minutes and the focus was about the love between a grandma and granddaughter.   That is why it was so easy to grow an immediate fondness for Jake and Jackie.  Their priorities on relationships, family and friends, was evident from day one.  It's easy to love working with a couple who loves others so graciously and abundantly.

Oh and the first look (an intimate opportunity for the groom to see his bride, just the two of them and the photographers, ha!)... Jake's reaction was priceless.  He was so expressive when he saw how stunning Jackie looked and we enjoyed capturing those quiet moments of the two of them together.  First looks, are an amazing opportunity for the couple to share a special moment together on their wedding day, and we could instantly see the nerves and jitters dissipate from both of them after they saw one another.

Jake & Jackie increased the epic factor of their reception by having not only a DJ but they had a band perform as well.  And what was really cool about the band is one of the members of the band was the bride's father, a former US Air Force Jazz Band member.   How awesome is that?

So many memories from Jake and Jackie's wedding day we could share....we decided it's best just to 'tell' you in pictures.  Enjoy!
