Brandon + Kirsten | Paxton Wedding | Sidney Dairy Barn
Brandon and Kirsten's story almost ended before the happily ever after even began. With their permission, we are sharing a post with photos from an accident Kirsten was involved in less than two weeks before their wedding. While most couples leading up to their wedding day are attending parties thrown in their honor, doing a trial run on hair and make-up and putting the finishing touches on decorations, Kristen and Brandon were just thankful they were still going to be able to say 'I do'. Not only did this create a stronger bond between them, it really allowed them to cherish their wedding day as it unfolded and let the 'little stuff' that can cause stress to some bride and grooms just roll off their shoulders. As Kristin and I tell our brides often, try to relax and enjoy the day... even if things don't go as planned. Cause at the end of the day, even if the centerpieces are missing the greenery you requested, the groom forgot to shave, or your high heel broke off as you're walking into the reception, etc, you will be married. And THAT is all that matters. So just enjoy your day! And with Kirsten's recent accident as a fresh reminder they certainly did just that!
So as you look through these images, you may notice the lingering remnants of bruises on Kirsten's left arm. She and Brandon agree that the accident, and thankfully the great outcome, is a part of their story. So are the bruises. Yes the photos could be touched up to remove the bruises but we see the bruises as a beautiful reminder of a positive outcome, a bond that is now stronger and life just as it was. We love to tell our couple's story and capture candid moments that show the real them. THIS is them. We always love photographing weddings but in light of the recent accident, we were extremely thankful we were able to be present to watch them exchange vows.
The weather was perfect for their wedding day. The navy accents and red flowers were such vibrant pops of color against the white wedding gown and gray suit. Just wait til you see the great shoes the Kirsten and her bridesmaids were wearing! We enjoyed all the details we were able to capture... from the patterned socks Brandon and the groomsmen were wearing, monogrammed shirts all the gals wore when getting ready, framed 'guest book', guests blowing kazoos as Brandon and Kirsten exited the building, to the most unforgettable best man's speech! ;-) And we would be remiss if we didn't mention one of the highlights of the reception... they hired Sidney Dairy Barn to bring out the Moo Mobile. The reaction of the twenty-somethings we were seated with when Sidney Dairy Barn was announced rivaled the reaction of a 5-year old when they learn that Santa has been at their house. Brandon and Kirsten, what an incredible idea that was and most definitely was well received by everyone in attendance.
Enjoy looking at just a few highlights from their wedding day. And bet you $1 that by the time you are done, you will be thinking a trip to Sidney is a great idea. :-)
Show Brandon and Kirsten some love!
